Hair Transplant Without Shaving
A primary concern for many people considering hair transplant surgery is whether the procedure can be performed without shaving their head. An unshaven hair transplant is often a preferred option, as our hair plays a significant role in reflecting our identity and self-image.
At EstheticProf, we understand the reluctance to shave one’s head before a hair transplant and have conducted extensive research to determine if it is possible to undergo the procedure without shaving. Below, we list some common reasons why patients may be hesitant to shave their heads:
• Limitations due to the nature of the guest’s business or job, particularly for those working in hospitality or customer-facing roles.
• The desire to conceal the hair transplant appearance on the skin, as a shaved head would make the surgery more noticeable.
• The emotional impact of shaving, especially for women with long hair.
Fortunately, with the Sapphire FUE method, it is no longer necessary for everyone to shave their entire head before a hair transplant. We offer our guests three options:
- Shave only the donor site.
- Partially shave – only a small, undetectable area at the back of the head.
- Fully shave – both donor and recipient sites.
The fully shaved hair transplant is the most commonly used method, where both the donor area and the recipient site are shaved.
